As I've mentioned elsewhere, the old Caddies like this black one, have faired well. In 2003 these classics taxis were reserved for Cubans who paid in the cheaper peso. This way both the driver/owners could make a little and the Cubans had taxis they can afford. We tourists are supposed to ride in the new taxis and pay dollars or now Euros. The rates are still reasonable, but help pay for the roads, etc.
